Delhi experienced its hottest start to February in 15 years, following the warmest January in six years. On Saturday, the capital recorded a maximum temperature of 26.2 degrees Celsius, 3.9 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 10.2 degrees Celsius, 1.8 degrees above normal. This marks the highest recorded temperature for February 1 since 2011. Humidity levels ranged from 100 per cent in the morning to 51 per cent later in the day.
Moderate to dense fog engulfed the city in the morning, reducing visibility to just 50 metres at IGI Airport and Safdarjung. The low visibility impacted road, rail and air traffic before improving as the day progressed.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts smog and moderate fog on Sunday morning, with some areas experiencing dense fog. Partially cloudy conditions are expected during the day, with a maximum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 9 degrees Celsius. A yellow alert has been issued for dense fog.
Light rain is likely on Monday night and Tuesday morning, with temperatures ranging from 22-25 degrees Celsius during the day and 9-12 degrees Celsius at night. Clear skies are expected from Wednesday, with maximum temperatures between 22-24 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures between 12-14 degrees Celsius.

Delhi Air Quality
For the fourth consecutive day, Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘very poor’ category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the city’s average Air Quality Index (AQI) on Saturday stood at 355, a slight increase from 351 the previous day.
