Delhi Monsoon: In a major update for the residents, Delhi is likely to face a delay in the arrival of monsoon this year. As per the weather department, the monsoon is likely to arrive in the first week of July instead of its usual time, around June 27. The weather experts, while providing details, stated that the monsoon is arriving late due to the absence of favourable weather systems across the Bay of Bengal.

As per the weather experts, a low-pressure system usually develops over the Bay of Bengal around mid-June that pushes moisture-laden winds towards the northern states, leading to the rainfall. However, the low-pressure system has not developed yet, leading to a delay in the monsoon's arrival in the national capital.
