Delhi-NCR Weather Update:The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for light to moderate rain over the next two days, October 6 and 7. Nearby cities like Ghaziabad and Noida are under yellow alerts, while Gurugram has an orange alert. In Delhi, the orange alert was effective from around 1:20 am to 3:42 am on Monday, while Gurugram’s lasted until 2:08 am. Yellow alerts for Ghaziabad and Noida remained in effect until 1:55 am.

Residents of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) can expect continued weather changes as a strong western disturbance moves across northwest India.

Delhi Weather Forecast 

On Oct 6, the maximum temperature ranged between 28-30 Degree Celsius and the minimum between 22-24 Degree Celsius, with winds ENE/10-15 kmph and E/10-15 kmph; the weather was generally cloudy with light to moderate rain at many places, accompanied by thunderstorms/lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph, reaching up to 50 kmph.

On October 7, the maximum temperature ranged from 29-31 Degree Celsius and the minimum from 22-24 Degree Celsius, with winds SE/10-15 kmph, S/5-10 kmph, and NE/5-10 kmph; the weather was generally cloudy, with one or two spells of light to moderate rain at many places, accompanied by thunderstorms/lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph, reaching up to 50 kmph during the morning and forenoon.

On Oct 8, the maximum temperature ranged from 31-33 Degree Celsius and the minimum from 20-22 Degree Celsius, with winds W/10-15 kmph, WNW/15-20 kmph, and NW/15-20 kmph; the sky was partly cloudy.

On Oct 9, the maximum temperature ranged from 31-33 Degree Celsius and the minimum from 20-22 Degree Celsius, with winds NW/10-15 kmph, NW/15-20 kmph, and NW/10-15 kmph; the sky was partly cloudy.

On Oct 10, the maximum temperature ranged from 31-33 Degree Celsius and the minimum from 20-22 Degree Celsius, with winds NW/15-20 kmph, NNW/15-20 kmph, and NNW/10-15 kmph; the sky was mainly clear.

On Oct 11, the maximum temperature ranged from 32-34 Degree Celsius and the minimum from 20-22 Degree Celsius, with winds NW/5-10 kmph, N/10-15 kmph, and N/5-10 kmph; the sky was mainly clear.

On Sunday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 34.1 Degree Celsius, which is normal for this time of year, but it is expected to drop to around 28 Degree Celsius on Monday. The minimum temperature was 24.2 Degree Celsius, about two degrees above normal, and may fall to nearly 20 Degree Celsius by Wednesday as cool northwesterly winds return.

Although it is only the first week of October, the city has already received more than three times its usual rainfall for the month. Safdarjung, Delhi’s main weather station, has recorded 51.8 mm of rain so far, compared to the normal 15.1 mm. Last year, there was no rain in October. With more showers expected on Monday and Tuesday, the month’s total could approach 100 mm.
