Delhi Police has arrested Zoya Khan, the wife of notorious gangster Hashim Baba, in the Welcome area of North East Delhi. She was caught with 270 grams of heroin, valued at around Rs 1 crore in the international market. Investigators believe the drugs were sourced from Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.
For years, Zoya Khan managed to evade arrest, operating in the shadows while law enforcement struggled to pin concrete charges on her. Despite being on their radar for a long time, she always stayed a step ahead, maintaining a low profile when necessary. However, this time, the law finally caught up with her.
At 33, Zoya was not just another gang member, she was the mastermind behind her husband’s criminal network. After Hashim Baba was imprisoned, she took control of his operations, handling drug trade and extortion while ensuring her name never directly appeared in any illegal dealings.
Ties to the Underworld
Hashim Baba, a feared gangster, has multiple cases against him, including murder, extortion, and arms smuggling. Zoya is his third wife. Before marrying him in 2017, she was married to another man but later got divorced. It was after this that she got close to Baba—both were neighbours in North East Delhi, where their relationship began.
Once Baba was behind bars, Zoya stepped in to run his operations. Sources compare her role to that of Haseena Parkar, sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, who managed his businesses in his absence. Delhi Police’s Special Cell has gathered evidence suggesting that Zoya played an active role in drug distribution and extortion rackets.

For Zoya Khan, crime runs in the family. Her mother was jailed in 2024 for alleged involvement in a sex trafficking racket but is currently out on bail. Her father was reportedly connected to drug supply networks. Following in their footsteps, Zoya established her own operations in North East Delhi, primarily in Usmanpur, where she was constantly guarded by four to five armed henchmen, loyal associates of her gangster husband, Hashim Baba.
North East Delhi has long been a hub for organized crime, with gangs like the Chhenu gang, the Hashim Baba gang, and the Nasir Pehelwan gang dominating the region. While these criminal groups initially focused on drug trafficking, their rivalries have led to multiple violent murders since 2007.
Hashim Baba’s gang generated huge sums through extortion, a significant portion of which was funneled to Zoya, further strengthening her influence in the underworld.
A Lavish Lifestyle with a Criminal Backdrop
Unlike a typical gangster, Zoya projected a glamorous lifestyle. She frequently attended high-end parties, wore designer clothes, and showcased luxury brands on social media, where she had a significant following. However, behind this facade, she was running a criminal empire.

She regularly visited Baba in Tihar Jail, where he allegedly trained her in using coded language for communication. Police sources claim he gave her instructions on managing the gang’s finances and maintaining contact with his associates outside prison. She was also in touch with other criminal syndicates, expanding her influence in the underworld.
Connections with Lawrence Bishnoi
Zoya’s husband, Hashim Baba, was also linked to the Nadir Shah murder case last year. During his time in Tihar Jail, he reportedly confessed to his role in the crime and named Lawrence Bishnoi, a notorious gangster involved in the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala and the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai.
Despite being held in separate prisons, Baba and Bishnoi allegedly maintained communication through illegal phone networks and video calls, coordinating their criminal activities from behind bars.
