Diwali News 2024: Amid Diwali around the corner, the markets in Delhi and other places are seeing a massive crowd. There is also an abundance of street vendors on the footpaths, roads, and central verge. Dainik Jagran raised the horrific situation of Sadar Bazar from Monday to Thursday after which Delhi Police has deployed 100 additional policemen and paramilitary forces in this market, one of the largest markets in Asia. However, in a video viral on social media on Wednesday, a stampede-like situation was seen in this market due to an excessive crowd of people.

On Thursday, North DCP Raja Banthia inspected the market with police personnel and took stock of the security arrangements. Paramilitary forces and Delhi Police personnel were also with him, who took action against the encroachers. The goods of the street vendors on the road and footpath were confiscated, but after their departure, the encroachers again occupied the road, footpath and central verge.

Unhappy with this, the Federation of Sadar Bazar Traders Association (Festa) has demanded the deployment of policemen and paramilitary forces from Delhi Police. Festa Chairman Paramjit Singh Pamma, President Rakesh Yadav, General Secretary Rajendra Sharma, and Treasurer Deepak Mittal said that we had a meeting with all the officials of Delhi Traffic Police, MCD, Delhi Police, and Metro before the festival, in which we had told them that Sadar Bazar is very crowded during festivals.

For this, they should deploy more personnel, but there has been a shortage in it. Therefore, the situation is becoming out of control. Traders' leaders said that if the situation does not improve soon, traders will be forced to protest.

A road map was also issued by Sadar Bazar police station, in which it has been said to install barricades at many places to stop e-rickshaws in the market. Regarding this, a meeting of market organizations with police and other agencies will be held on Friday as well.

Similarly, a large number of paramilitary forces and Delhi Police have been deployed to control the crowd in Chandni Chowk, Khari Baoli, Chawri Bazaar, and other markets. Also, entry of vehicles has been restricted by installing barricades in major markets. Due to this, a lot of improvement has been seen in the condition of many markets.
