According to information received from police and villagers, the couple had gone to the Chandika Sthan in the village to offer prayers at around 10 am on Wednesday. After returning home, they prepared chicken and rice and ate. After the meal, Sahodari Devi fell asleep. Meanwhile, Nageshwar Bind drank alcohol. In a drunken state, he first slit his wife's throat with an axe and other sharp weapons, then stabbed her face and hands repeatedly, killing her.

After murdering her, he dug a pit inside the house and buried the body, and spent the rest of the day trying to act normal.

Goats' Bleating Leads To Discovery Of Murder

Late in the evening, he locked the house from the outside and tried to leave. When neighbours noticed Sahodari missing, they inquired about her. The accused told them that she had gone to her parents' home, but the goats tied inside were constantly bleating out of hunger and thirst. Sahodari's departure to her parental home without informing anyone aroused the villagers' suspicions. They caught Nageshwar and informed the police.

Suryagarha police station arrived at the scene and searched the house, but found no trace of the woman. Upon rigorous questioning, the accused confessed to the murder and burying the body. After this, the police dug inside the house and recovered the body.

Fearing the possibility of someone else's involvement in the incident, the police also took the help of a sniffer dog at night and investigated various points.

During preliminary interrogation, the accused told the police that the couple was childless and he was not happy with her. However, the police said they are also thoroughly investigating the actual reason behind the murder and other possible aspects.
