The District Education Department in Faridabad has issued show-cause notices to 364 schools for failing to upload information about vacant seats on the Right to Education (RTE) portal, Jagran.com reported. Despite an extension, these schools have not complied, prompting the department to take action.

Out of 1,407 recognised schools in Faridabad, the majority have uploaded the required information. According to a report by Punjab Kesari, District Education Officer Ajit Singh stated that the non-compliance is causing problems for parents, who are unable to access information about vacant seats and are forced to visit the education department office repeatedly.

Singh added that the department had sought information from schools, but many failed to respond. Show-cause notices have been issued, and if the schools do not respond, action will be taken as per the rules. The department is taking a strict stance to ensure transparency and facilitate admissions under the RTE Act.

The RTE admission process in the district is yet to begin, hindered by schools' failure to provide timely information about available seats. In response, the Directorate of Elementary Education has extended the application deadline from April 21 to April 25.
