In a related incident, three cars collided on the highway as drivers slowed down to observe the aftermath of the initial accident. The occupants of these vehicles sustained only minor injuries, although the cars were heavily damaged. The collision was severe enough to deploy the airbags in two of the cars. Following the crash, the drivers began arguing and blaming each other for the accident until police intervened to restore order.

Witnesses reported that the accident took place near Sarpanch Colony, where the victim, identified as Draupadi, was trying to cross to the other side of the highway. She navigated through a broken section of the grill when she was struck by a speeding vehicle. The impact threw her to the ground and she suffered fatal head injuries.

The broken grill is a common hazard on this stretch of highway, with many sections damaged or missing entirely. Despite the danger, locals frequently cross the road at these points instead of using foot overbridges, which they avoid due to the inconvenience of climbing stairs.

Accidents like this are not uncommon, as many people risk their safety by crossing the highway. Local shopkeepers have been known to cut the grill to create shortcuts, leading to repeated repairs by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
