Special Trains 2025: The railways have decided to run a Reserved Festival Special train between Varanasi Junction and Lokmanya Tilak Station to ease commutation for rail passengers. The information was shared on the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of the Northern Railways. 

Indian Railways announced the operation of a special Festival Special train to meet the growing demand for passengers. This decision was taken to provide better convenience to passengers during the festive season.

A senior railway official said, quoted by jagran.com, "With this special train, we are trying to manage the rush of passengers during the festive season." He added that since the number of seats in this train will be limited, passengers are advised to book their seats well in advance. Booking of the tickets can be done on the official railway website as well as on the mobile app.

Varanasi Junction To Lokmanya Tilak (Weekly) Special

The special trains will begin operating from October 13 and continue till October 18. In total, there will be 12 services (6 on each side). The train will depart from the Varanasi Junction at 01:35 AM and arrive at the Lokmanya Tilak station at 02:25 PM. 

The train from Lokmanya Tilak Station will depart at 04:55 PM and arrive at Varanasi Junction at 02:05 AM. The trains will have only AC accommodations.

Train numbers: 

  • 04226- From Varanasi Junction on 13/10/25 to 17/10/25 on every Monday.

  • 04225- From Lokmanya Tilak station on 14/10/25 to 18/10/25 on every Tuesday.

What Are The Stoppages Of This Train?

The train will have stops in the following stations:

  • Jaunpur City

  • Sultanpur Junction

  • Lucknow

  • Kanpur Central

  • Orai

  • Veerangna Laxmibai (Jhansi)

  • Bina Junction

  • Rani Kamlapati

  • Itarsi Junction

  • Khandwa

  • Bhusaval Junction

  • Nashik Road

  • Kalyan Junction

  • Thane railway stations

Hazrat Nizamuddin To Khadki (Bi-Weekly) Special

The trains from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Khadki will begin operations from October 15 and continue till October 27. In total, there will be 8 services (4 on each side). The train from Hazrat Nizamuddin will depart at 08:00 PM and reach Khadki at 09:25 PM (Next Day). The train from Khadki will depart at 04:45 PM and reach Hazrat Nizamuddin at 11:55 PM (Next Day). These trains will also have only AC accommodations.
