Flood Alert In Delhi: Due to torrential rains in northern India, the Yamuna River is flowing above the danger mark, causing its waters to flood houses, markets, fields, and cremation grounds. The lives of people living near the Yamuna and in the lower regions have been severely affected.

At the same time, Vasudev Ghat, located on the banks of the Yamuna, has been closed as the water has reached the site. The Yamuna Aarti held here has also been temporarily suspended. Rising water levels have forced evacuations from homes in areas adjoining the Yamuna in Delhi, as well as in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Faridabad, with people being relocated to safer locations.

- The rear section of Nigam Bodh Ghat is submerged, preventing funerals from being held there on Tuesday. The main gate and premises are also flooded. Due to the rising water level of the Yamuna, the drainage system is unable to discharge water into the river, causing water to accumulate in the ghat’s premises and at the main entrance. This situation has caused considerable distress for the people.

- Floodwaters have also entered Monastery Market, leading traders to vacate their shops. Electricity has been cut off in the area to prevent the risk of electric shock, and the administration has closed the market.

The water flows into Faridabad through the Okhla Barrage.

- Rising water levels are also impacting Gautam Buddha Nagar. The district administration has evacuated approximately 450 families and more than 1,500 animals from over 500 farmhouses located in the Yamuna floodplain.
