The British ruled India for a long time. The country gained its independence from the colonisers' slavery in 1947. Indians can now move freely anywhere they want and can lead a life on their terms. Well, is that really so?
Do you know there are reportedly certain places in the country itself, where Indians are denied entry as they are only open to foreigners? Yes, you heard it right.
Here we have curated five such places where Indians are not allowed to enter, as per reports.
UNO-IN Hotel, Bangalore
The popular UNO-IN Hotel in Bangalore, Karnataka, is another location with restrictions for Indians. Reportedly, the location was exclusive to Indians and only open to Japanese people. Afterwards, the hotel was prohibited by the government. After OYO took over, Indians are now permitted to enter.
Sakura Ryokan Restaurant, Ahmedabad
A well-known eatery with Japanese specialties. There are rumours that this restaurant only serves Japanese customers. The restaurant's Indian owner has discovered that after some Indians came in and made fun of a waitress from the Northeast, an Indian ban was put in place.
Foreigners Beach, Goa
Numerous reports state that there are beaches in Goa reserved just for visitors from other countries. It is off-limits to Indian visitors. This is primarily because Indians are still getting used to their culture and that foreigners are free to travel.
Red Lollipop Hostel, Chennai
Chennai's Red Lollipop Hostel has a strict no-Indian rule. The hostel is only open to visitors and guests with valid foreign passports. Indians who currently hold a foreign passport are likewise ineligible to remain.
Free Kasol Café, Kasol, Himachal Pradesh
The Free Kasol Café has also made headlines for refusing to let Indian customers in. Numerous reports have implied that Indians are not permitted because some of them mistreat their female owner, despite the owner's denial of this.
