  3. .Kanwar Yatra influx prompts new traffic management plan.

Vehicles will be prohibited from travelling towards Ghantaghar and the Clock Tower starting Monday to accommodate the growing influx of Kanwariyas and devotees. Traffic coming from the Railway Road cut heading toward the Clock Tower will be blocked, diverting commuters to alternative routes to relieve pressure on GT Road.

All affected traffic will be rerouted from Hapur Tiraha onto Hapur Road to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the weekday rush. While lower holiday traffic allowed unhindered movement through Chaudhary Mod on Sunday, heightened Monday commuter volume has prompted full enforcement of the traffic management plan.

Simultaneously, vehicles coming from Hapur Tiraha will not be permitted to proceed towards the Clock Tower. They will be diverted towards Hapur Road. On Monday, a large number of people will leave their homes for work. Consequently, increased traffic congestion is expected on Chaudhary Mod, Railway Road Cut, Clock Tower, and surrounding routes.

Meanwhile, the number of Kanwariyas is also steadily increasing. Traffic police say that the decision to stop vehicles at Chaudhary Mod and Railway Road Cut will be based on the traffic situation and the crowd of Kanwariyas. If necessary, on-the-spot diversions will be implemented to divert traffic through alternative routes. Vehicular movement has also been stopped between Gaushala Underpass and Jassipura Mod.

"In case of an increase in the number of vehicles and pilgrims on Monday, vehicles will not be allowed to proceed towards the Clock Tower from Chaudhary Mod and Railway Road Cut. Vehicles coming from Hapur Tiraha will be diverted towards Hapur Road," said Triguna Bisen, DCP Traffic.
