HighLights
  1. Heavy vehicle entry restricted in Kanpur from 8 PM.
  2. Diversions in place for Kanwar Yatra traffic management.
  3. Emergency vehicles exempted; helplines issued for assistance.

Jagran Correspondent, Kanpur: Amid a steady rise in the number of Kanwariyas and heightened security concerns for devotees, the Kanpur Traffic Police have put in place a detailed traffic management plan for the second Monday of Shravan and the ongoing Kanwar Yatra.

The diversion plan will remain in effect from 8 PM tonight until 12 AM on Monday (August 11). During this period, the entry of heavy vehicles into the city will be restricted. Ambulances and vehicles engaged in emergency services, however, will be exempt from the restrictions.

As part of the arrangements, heavy vehicles will be diverted from the Ramadevi Flyover toward Fatehpur Road. The diversion is expected to increase traffic pressure on the flyover between Ramadevi and Naubasta.

To avoid congestion, passenger vehicles, cars, ambulances and other light vehicles coming from the Etawah side via the Sachendi-Bhaunti Bypass can take the Naubasta ramp and proceed via the Yashoda Nagar and Shyam Nagar intersections along the Ramadevi service road.

For traffic-related assistance, the police have issued the Traffic Control Room helpline 9305104340 and the Green Corridor Cell number 9454402413.
