Goa Nightclub Fire: Four members of a Delhi family reportedly died in the fire incident at Goa's nightclub on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The neighbours informed that the family of five had visited Goa for the first time; however, four of them died in the tragic incident. While the bodies of two members have already been identified, the other two members got completely charred, leading to difficulty in tracing the identity. At least 25 people, including five tourists and club staffers, died in the fire that erupted at Birch by Romeo Lane. The officials stated that the majority of victims succumbed to smoke inhalation, while three people are believed to have died from burn injuries.
The neighbours stated that three sisters Anita, Kamla, and Saroj Joshi died in the incident, adding that Bhavna Joshi, another sister, managed to survive. Apart from three sisters, husband of Bhavna also died due to the suffocation. Harish Singh, a family friend and neighbour, has informed that the bodies of Anita and Kamla have been identified by the authorities, reported the Hindustan Times. He further stated that their mother has not been informed about the incident, as is elderly and has been dealing with diseases.

“I think they left home last week. They were all very excited for the trip. It was their first trip to Goa. We didn’t know this would happen,” Singh was quoted as saying by the HT. “Their mother’s health is not well right now. So, nobody has told her anything . We all know she will not be able to hear all this. Only Naveen knows. Nobody is allowed to visit aunty (mother). We are all helping the family. Vinod had joined his wife and the sisters to help them explore Goa. They wanted to go for a road trip as well,” he added.
The family was reportedly having dinner when the fire broke out and one of the family members got stuck; however, the other members also got trapped in an attempt to evacuate them.
