Godawan Century, an Indian single malt whiskey, secured the highest score in the single malt whiskey category at the 2024 London Spirits Competition, making it the top-performing product from India. The 2024 London Spirits Competition ranks the world's best alcoholic spirits based on quality, taste, value and packaging parameters. Godawan Century whiskey scored an impressive 96, positioning it as one of the finest single malt whiskeys globally.
According to the tasting notes from the London Spirits Competition, Godawan Century offers strong tropical scents, a lighter taste, and a short finish. It brings a delightful sweetness to the palate, with subtle hints of caramel, charcoal, cinnamon, and anise, leading to a long dry finish.
Who crafts Godawan Century?
Diageo India, a subsidiary of global leader Diageo, manufactures Godawan Century Whiskey. Diageo boasts premium liquors such as Johnnie Walker, Black Dog, Black & White, Vat 69, Antiquity, Signature, Singelton, Royal Challenge, McDowell’s No 1, Smirnoff, Ketel One, Tanqueray and Captain Morgan.

"The heat of over 100°F combined with six-row barley, which requires lesser water, helps create a whisky with an incredible depth of flavour, and a rich and complex character. The aridity means the 'Angel's share' is higher than average in Godawan – leaving behind a whisky with incredible depths of flavour, which is further enhanced by finishing in special casks selectively curated with Indian botanicals," the company wrote about its product.
