Goldy Brar Death: The United States Police has dismissed several reports circulating online, claiming the demise of notorious Canadian gangster Goldy Brar, accused of orchestrating the killing of Punjabi pop singer Sidhu Moose Wala, and said the gangster is still alive. According to news agency IANS, the Fresno police department in California on Wednesday denied reports that one of the two persons attacked in a shooting incident was Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar.

We are not sure who started this rumour, but it caught on and spread like wildfire. But again, it isn't true. The victim is definitely not Goldy,” he further said.

The other man was hit in the lower part of the body and was released from the hospital after treatment. However, the reports of the shooting were widely spread in India, claiming that the deceased was Goldy Brar.

According to media reports, Goldy Brar is the son of Shamsher Singh, a former assistant sub-inspector in the Punjab Police. Goldy Brar reportedly ranked 15 out of 25 on Canada's most wanted list in May 2023, where he is accused of being involved in more than 50 murders. He gained massive attention in June last year after he claimed responsibility for the murder of Indian rap star and Congress politician Sidhu Moosewala.
Following Moosewala’s death, Goldy Brar asserted that the murder was a retaliation for the 2022 death of student leader Vicky Middukhera in Punjab. Brar called Moosewala an ‘egotistical person’ who needed to be taught a lesson. “Sidhu Moosewala was an egoistic person. He misused his political and monetary power. It was necessary to teach him a lesson, and he was taught one," Brar told India Today in 2023. The Centre also declared Brar a terrorist in January 2024 under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
