A 17-year-old boy died of a sudden cardiac arrest while playing Garba in Gujarat’s Kheda district on the sixth day of Navratri celebrations. He was rushed to a hospital by volunteers who performed CPR on him but was declared dead on arrival. The incident took place on Friday when the boy, identified as Veer Shah was playing Garba at a ground in Kapadvanj and complained of dizziness and collapsed.
“A team of volunteers at the scene immediately attended to him and performed a cardio-respiratory resuscitation. We monitored his vitals but found no pulse. There was no response and signs of respiration. He was given three cycles of Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). We shifted him to a hospital by ambulance. However, he was declared dead at the hospital,’’ Dr Ayush Patel said while sharing the details of the incident as reported by news agency ANI.

Veer’s parents, who were at another Garba ground, were shocked and devastated by the news of their young son’s death.
