A 22-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a metro train at the MG Road Station in Gurugram, police said on Sunday, adding that a video of the incident has surfaced.The incident took place at around 9.30 pm on Friday when the deceased, Varsha, came in front of a Delhi-bound metro train at the station, they said.

Varsha, a resident of Ayanagar in Delhi, worked with a private company near the MG Road Metro Station in Gurugram. Metro services on the affected track were disrupted for around half an hour following the incident, causing inconvenience to passengers, the police said.

A senior police officer said the exact circumstances leading to the incident are yet to be ascertained.
Police and Metro staff showed the CCTV footage to the woman's family. However, the family believed it was an accident and declined to take any action, officials said.

The body was sent for post-mortem examination and later handed over to the family."No suicide note has been found. The family members of the deceased have treated it as an accident and have not filed any complaint," a spokesperson of the Gurugram Police said.
