Amid these developments, the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited (HMRTC), responsible for overseeing metro projects in the state, is preparing to extend a separate metro line from Bhondsi to Gurgaon Railway Station. This expansion is expected to ease traffic congestion along Sohna Road and NH8. The proposed route will pass through key intersections such as Vatika Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Sohna Chowk, Sector 4-7 Chowk, and Railway Road.
According to reports, the metro rail agency has issued an invitation for bids to carry out a geotechnical investigation. The proposed stretch spans approximately 16 km, running from Sector 9 to Cyber City, and includes a spur connecting to Gurgaon Railway Station and the proposed metro depot.
According to GMRL officials, the geotechnical survey will commence once the tender is finalized. The entire assessment is expected to take approximately two months to complete.
