Gurugram Traffic News: Gurugram received continuous rain in the afternoon of Monday, leading to waterlogging and traffic snarls across the city. Heavy traffic was reported in several areas of Gurugram, including Rajiv Chowk, Sohna Road, Golf Course Extension Road, and Southern Peripheral Road, due to waterlogging. Vehicular movement also stalled between Vatika Chowk and Tulip Chowk amid massive congestion.

As rainfall continued to plague the roads of ‘Millennium City’, locals expressed their angst over social media. Famous author Suhel Seth took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to put forth his thoughts candidly, “Hello all the nice people of Gurgaon: it’s pissing with rain so take out your boats…"
Orange Alert For Gurugram
According to the latest forecast by the IMD, an orange alert has been issued for Gurugram and Faridabad. However, no warnings for Delhi have been put forth as of now on its official website dated September 1. Earlier, Noida, Faridabad, and Gurugram were put under an orange alert, and Ghaziabad was issued a yellow alert till Monday afternoon.
Delhi received a rainfall of 400.1mm, which is 72% over the monthly long-period average (LPA) of 233.1mm. According to IMD, a similar trend can be expected for September as well. Going by the past trends, Delhi can receive rainfall close to 123 mm. This will take Delhi’s annual rainfall total beyond the 1,000mm mark.

But things do not look promising for the people belonging to other states of Northern India. Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sas Nagar, and Patiala in Punjab, Uttarkashi, Dehradun, Haridwar, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat, Nainital, and Bageshwar in Uttarakhand, and Kangra, Una, Bilaaspur, Solan, Shimla, and Sirmaur in Himachal have all been placed under red alert by the IMD.
