The Haryana administration announced to extend internet shutdown in seven districts of the state till February 15 due to the farmers’ protest. According to an official notification, mobile internet services, bulk SMS and all dongle services will remain shut in Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa.
The mobile services in these seven districts were earlier suspended on February 11 till February 13 midnight given security concerns due to 'Delhi Chalo' call given by several farmers’ organisations, who are marching towards the Parliament demanding a law to guarantee Minimum Support Price (MSP).
Meanwhile, the authorities have put up securing checks at different locations on Wednesday and long traffic jams were also witnessed at the Delhi-Ghaziabad Border due to barricades placed to stop farmers from entering the national capital.

Security forces including Rapid Action Force personnel, Police personnel and Riot Control Vehicles are deployed at the Singhu Border in Delhi in view of the farmers’ protest. Security arrangements have also been enhanced at the Shambhu border in Haryana’s Ambala with police forces using cement barricades and containers to stop the protesting farmers.
More concrete is being poured between the concrete slabs at the Tikri Border to make the border stronger on Wednesday, after the clashes by the security forces on the first day of the protest.
Jhajjar DSP Anil Kumar said that the traffic has been diverted and currently the atmosphere is peaceful. "Currently, the atmosphere is peaceful. Traffic has been diverted. The movement of the pedestrians is normal," the senior official said as quoted by news agency ANI.
