Haryana Political Crisis: Haryana BJP President Nayab Singh Saini will become the new state Chief Minister, the party announced on Tuesday nearly an hour after Manohar Lal Khattar tendered his resignation to Governor Bandaru Dattatreya. This came after the BJP snapped its ties with Dushyant Chautala's Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) reportedly over the distribution of seats for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
While JJP was demanding two seats -- Hisar and Bhiwani-Mahendragarh -- for the upcoming polls, the BJP was adamant to contest on all 10 seats across Haryana. At present, in the 90-member Assembly, the BJP has 41 MLAs, while the Congress has 30, the JJP 10, and there are seven Independents, apart from an MLA each of the INLD and Haryana Lokhit Party.
