Three days of relentless rain, flooding and landslides in Jammu and Kashmir have disrupted road connectivity to the hill regions, isolating more than 100 villages from their district headquarters.
Shri Amarnath Yatra, Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra and Shiv Khori pilgrimage have been suspended for the third consecutive day in view of the prevailing bad weather. In Himachal Pradesh, nine houses in the Boh Valley area of Kangra were washed away, and seven were damaged on Tuesday in a cloudburst.
Over 100 Villages Cut Off In Jammu And Kashmir
Multiple landslides caused traffic disruptions on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Udhampur and Ramban districts on Tuesday. Besides, waterlogging disrupted traffic movement on the Jammu-Pathankot Highway throughout the day.
Additionally, the Rajouri-Poonch highway was disrupted for about two and a half hours due to a landslide. Several shops were washed away by flooding in the Sukhnag River in Budgam. All rivers and streams, including the Tawi and Chenab, are in spate. All gates of the Salal Dam on the Chenab in Reasi have been opened as a precaution.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to review the flood situation. Shah assured all possible central support for relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts.
Amarnath, Vaishno Devi Yatras Suspended For Third Day
Sinha said that 356 of the 435 affected roads in the Rajouri-Poonch districts have been restored. Rain, floods, and famine have claimed 24 lives in the state in three days. Of these, approximately 21 deaths occurred in Rajouri and Poonch districts alone.
A woman was rescued nearly three hours after being trapped under the debris in a collapsed house in Garhgun village of Kangra district. The heavy floods also damaged paddy fields.
⚠️ Heavy destruction has been reported in Boh Ghati, Shahpur subdivision of Kangra district, following a cloudburst. According to preliminary information, a large amount of debris along with the cloudburst entered several houses in the village, bringing water and mud inside.

Floodwater at a crossing near Shalkhar in Kinnaur had led to the closure of the Shimla-Kinnaur National Highway for 20 hours until it was reopened on Tuesday. The linking road was washed away in a landslide at Tikkar Ghar in Chamba district.

Kailash Mansarovar Route Blocked Due To Landslide
After the interruption of the Char Dham Yatra due to rain and landslides in Uttarakhand, normal services resumed on Tuesday. Despite this, landslides continue to make the path of the pilgrimage dangerous.
Due to a landslide on Tuesday afternoon, the road connecting the Kailash Mansarovar route with the Indo-China border near Lipulekh in Pithoragarh district has been obstructed by a landslide.
