Himachal Weather Update: At least 69 people have lost their lives, 37 remain missing, and 110 have been injured as Himachal Pradesh grapples with the aftermath of cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides caused by continuous heavy monsoon rains between June 20 and July 3. The disasters have led to property damage estimated at over Rs 400 crore, according to the NDTV report. Heavy rainfall alert has been issued for all districts in the state, remaining in effect until Monday, July 7.
Rescue and relief efforts are ongoing, with the army, local police, disaster response teams, and central agencies actively involved.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that since the onset of the monsoon, 14 separate cloudbursts have been reported, causing extensive damage to roads, drinking water projects, and electricity supply in several areas.

Union Minister Amit Shah Spoke Himachal CM
Earlier today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and assured all possible relief and assistance. He also extended support to other monsoon-affected states, including Gujarat and Rajasthan.
“In the wake of heavy rainfall in different parts of the nation, spoke with the chief ministers of Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Chhattisgarh. Adequate numbers of NDRF teams have been deployed in the states for the people in need, and more reinforcements can be sent as and when required. Assured them of all possible assistance from the central government,” he said.

Across Himachal Pradesh, 250 roads remain closed, over 500 power transformers are non-functional, and nearly 700 drinking water schemes have been disrupted, causing significant disruptions to essential services statewide.
Mandi Among The Worst-Hits
The monsoon entered Himachal Pradesh on June 20 and, as in previous years, has caused widespread destruction across the state. According to the latest reports, Mandi district has recorded over a dozen fatalities, while 13 deaths have been confirmed in Kangra, six in Chamba, and five in Shimla.
The worst-affected areas in Mandi district are Thunag and Bagsayed, both located in the Assembly constituency of former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition, Jairam Thakur. Significant damage has also been reported from Karsog and Dharampur. So far, at least 40 people have been reported missing from Mandi alone.
Himachal Pradesh: District-Wise Forecast
The IMD has forecast varying rainfall intensities across Himachal Pradesh:
Bilaspur, Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur, Hamirpur, Mandi, and Kangra are likely to receive light to moderate showers, with isolated spells of heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Kullu, Una, and Chamba are expected to see light to moderate rain.
Kinnaur, Lahaul, and Spiti may experience isolated light rainfall over the next few hours.
