Himachal Pradesh is shivering in the cold as the temperature in the valley plummeted to minus 15 degrees Celsius over the weekend. The biting chill and scenic view attracted a large number of tourists to the hilly state. However, not all tourists are happy with the weather in Himachal Pradesh as Shima recorded temperatures higher than normal and no snowfall was witnessed in the capital city. 

The low temperatures in high-altitude regions have ended up freezing the lakes in the region. For instance, Sissu Lake which is located at an altitude of over 12,000 feet in the trans-Himalayan region of Lahaul-Spiti turned into a frozen wonderland as temperatures dropped to minus 15 degrees Celsius in the region.     

Many tourists are enjoying ice skating at Kufri, where a swimming pool has been converted into an ice skating rink. "There is a good, cold climate and I am enjoying it. I am a beginner at ice skating. These guys are helping me a lot with skating. It's a very good experience here and I am carrying good memories. I would suggest my parents and family members come here," a tourist from Andhra Pradesh as quoted by news agency ANI.

Meanwhile, not all tourists are happy with the weather in Himachal Pradesh. Those who came to Shimla, the queen of hills, to see snow were disappointed as there was no snowfall in the capital or other places in the state. The temperatures are higher than normal and people are not feeling much cold during the day.

Tourists coming from Delhi, Punjab and Haryana say that the plain state is in the grip of dense fog these days. It is difficult for people to go out in the bitter cold. In such a situation, they have come to see the mountains. It was expected that there would be snowfall in Shimla, but this time there was no snow in Himachal's capital which left them disappointed.
