Himachal Shocker: Mandi Teacher Accuses Panchayat Deputy Chief Of Rape And Blackmail For 2 Years

Jagran Correspondent | Sundernagar (Mandi): A teacher from Himachal Pradesh Mandi has accused the deputy head of Rohanda Panchayat under the BSL Colony police station of rape and blackmailing. The victim claimed that the accused has threatened to defame her and kill her husband and son. The complaint mentioned that the chief identified as Jitendra Kumar has raped and blackmailed her for the last two years.

According to the complainant, the accused, Jitendra Kumar, began harassing her by calling her repeatedly. When she stopped answering his calls, he began threatening her. On May 27, the accused forcibly entered her room and raped her.

The complaint says that Kumar now stalked her relentlessly and publicly abused her using vulgar language. He threatened to disgrace her in society by making flex campaigns with her photographs. He has also threatened to kill her husband and son. The frightened family is experiencing severe mental distress.

What Did The Police Say?

Mandi Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar stated that the case has been classified as a special report, following its criticality. Further action is being taken.

Not An Isolated Incident

In a separate case, a private school principal in Theog, Shimla district, has been booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) after a female staff member accused him of rape, physical assault, and taking nude photographs without her consent.

The woman, employed at the school in Mahori Village since September 12, 2024, filed a complaint at the Theog police station alleging that the principal repeatedly coerced her into physical relations. She claimed that on one occasion, he forcibly entered her room, sexually assaulted her, and took explicit photos. The abuse allegedly occurred at multiple locations over several months, News18 reported.

This case is not an isolated incident in Himachal Pradesh. In Solan’s Kunihar area, a 53-year-old teacher was previously arrested for allegedly molesting minor girls. Separately, in Sir Maur's Rajgarh, a math teacher faced accusations of harassing 24 students, while six others leveled similar allegations against a Hindi teacher in the same district.
