As Pakistan launched precision strike missiles on Thursday evening, many cities across the northern and western India came under its attack. Pakistani drones were seen hovering in the sky in Jammu, Samba, Satwari and Udhampur in Jammu, Amritsar and Jalandhar in Punjab, as well as in Bikaner and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.
The Indian air defence intercepted several loitering munitions fired by the neighbouring country. Explosions could be heard as Indian air defence intercepted Pakistani drones in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur.

How Indian Air Defence Intercepted Pakistani Drones
As the Indian air defence launches counterstrikes against Pakistani drones, visuals shared by news agency ANI showed red flashes in the night sky in Jammu and Kashmir. Viewers noted that the red light observed in the sky is likely the ignition of the ammunition cap (a tracer or incendiary round) from an anti-drone gun.
The subsequent explosion sound that was heard indicated that the drone was intercepted or disabled implying a successful hit.
Pak Drones Shot Down In Jaisalmer
Drone attacks against the Indian Army and airbases have continued for the past hour. According to ANI, the Indian army is attempting to shoot them down from the air in Jaisalmer. Pakistani drones were intercepted by Indian air defence in Jaisalmer.
Flashes in the sky were seen and blast-like sounds were heard. Pakistan carried out devastating drone attacks in many parts of India, including IIT Srinagar, Jammu, and Jaisalmer, according to ANI.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Defence took to X and wrote, "Military stations at Jammu, Pathankot & Udhampur were targeted by Pakistani-origin drones and missiles along the International Border in J&K today. The threats were swiftly neutralised using kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities in line with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). No casualties or material losses were reported. India remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people."
