Weather Forecast: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dense fog over the next 4-5 days in northwest, central, east and northeast India. As per the IMD bulletin, minimum temperatures are expected to fall by two to three degrees Celsius in northwest India over the next four days and over central and east India over the next two days.

Cold Wave Alert In THESE States

From January 6 to 9, cold wave conditions will hit areas in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. Similar conditions will prevail in eastern Rajasthan from January 6 to 10; western Rajasthan from January 8 to 10. From January 6 to 8, Chhattisgarh will also witness a cold wave. Meanwhile, similar conditions will be witnessed in Jharkhand on January 6 and 7.

South India Weather Forecast

Light to moderate rain will lash Tamil Nadu on January 8 and 9. Thunderstorms and lightning are also likely during this time. However, on January 9 and 10, heavy showers are expected at some places in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mahe.

Jammu And Kashmir Weather Forecast

During the next two days, light to moderate rain or snowfall is likely in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

As per IMD, the weather conditions are influenced by multiple weather systems, such as western disturbances over North India and strong westerly winds blowing in the upper atmosphere.
