Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: As Bengaluru prepares to celebrate Independence Day, police have issued a traffic advisory for commuters in the city’s central business district. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is scheduled to hoist the national flag at Parade Ground, leading to several traffic restrictions around key areas such as MG Road and Cubbon Park.

In their announcement, the Bengaluru police specified that parking will be limited near the Parade Grounds.

Bengaluru Key no-parking zones:

Central Street: From Anil Kumble Circle to Shivajinagar Bus Stand.

Cubbon Road: From C.T.O. Circle to K.R. Road and at the Cubbon Road Junction.

M.G. Road: From Anil Kumble Circle to Queens Circle (both sides).

Bengaluru City Traffic Police have laid out specific traffic arrangements surrounding Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground. All invitees with car passes are advised to park only in designated areas outlined on their passes.

Emergency vehicles, such as ambulances and fire tenders, will be allowed entry via Gate No. 02 on Cubbon Road, with parking arranged behind the Fort Wall on the southern side. Media vehicles, including outside broadcasting vans, must enter the Parade Ground through Gate No. 4 and park on the eastern side.

With limited parking available, police are urging the public to utilise public transport to reduce congestion around the event. In a statement, Bengaluru police said, "Due to the shortage of parking spaces near the Parade Ground, we encourage everyone to take public transport. Should you need assistance, please call 112, as Bengaluru city police are here to help."

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has stated that all arrangements are in place for a smooth Independence Day celebration. Following the flag hoisting and his address, CM Siddaramaiah will honour 64 families who have made the noble decision to donate organs.
