The Opposition INDIA Bloc is all set for the mega rally on Sunday afternoon at Delhi’s iconic Ramlila Maidan in a show of strength and opposition unity in the backdrop of arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal just before Lok Sabha polls in connection with a money laundering case linked to the Delhi excise policy scam.

The opposition has alleged that the Central government is misusing central probe agencies to target opposition leaders just ahead of the general elections.

Top leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Bhagwant Mann, Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav and others are expected to mark their attendance in what the alliance has termed the ‘Loktantra Bachao’ rally or ‘Save Democracy’ rally.

The Congress on Saturday said that the rally by the INDIA alliance will send a "strong message" to the Lok Kalyan Marg, where the prime minister's residence is located, that the BJP-led government's "time is up".

Delhi Chief Minister’s wife Sunita Kejriwal, who has been doing press conferences since Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest is also likely to join the rally.

In view of the mega rally and expected mass gathering at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, Delhi Traffic police has issued a traffic advisory. There will be route diversions in the national capital on Sunday, beginning from 9 AM till 3 PM.

Traffic Regulations and Diversions for March 31 in Delhi

-On March 31, the movement of general traffic will be regulated and possibly restricted on various roads and junctions across Delhi. The following areas will be affected:

-Ranjeet Singh Flyover: From Barakhamba Road to Guru Nanak Chowk.

-Vivekanand Marg: From Minto Road to R/A Kamla Market, Hamdard Chowk.

-J-LN Marg: From Delhi Gate to Guru Nanak Chowk and Ajmeri Gate. R/A Kamla Market to Guru Nanak Chowk.

-Chaman Lal Marg: Near VIP Gate, Guru Nanak Chowk to Turkman Gate.

-Diversions will be in place at the following locations:

-Rajghat Chowk

-Minto Road, DDU Marg Mirdard Chowk

-Paharganj Chowk

-A-Point

-Delhi Gate

Commuters are advised to avoid the affected routes if possible and utilise public transport, especially Metro services. Delhi Police also recommends travelers headed to the ISBT, railway station or airport to carefully plan their travel for potential delays due to the protests.

The traffic advisory also added that traffic regulations and diversion will be reviewed according to requirements on Sunday. The updated advisory will be issued accordingly.
