Indian Railways News: For the convenience of passengers, the railway administration will operate the Coimbatore-Haridwar-Coimbatore Express Special for only one trip on both sides, jagran.com reported.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Aditya Gupta said that train number 06043 will run from Coimbatore on December 24 while train number 06044 will run from Haridwar on December 30.

The train will leave from Coimbatore on Wednesday, December 24 at 11:15 am and will reach Haridwar at 12:05 am on December 26.

Train number 06044 will leave for Coimbatore from Haridwar on Tuesday, December 30 at 10:30 pm.

Coimbatore-Haridwar-Coimbatore Express Stoppages

Starting from Haridwar, this train will stop at Roorkee, Ghaziabad, Nizamuddin, Mathura, Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Ratlam, Vadodara, Udhna, Vasai Road, Panvel, Roha, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Thivim, Madgaon, Karwar, Bayantur Mookabika Road, Kundapura, Udupi, Mangalore, Kannur, Kozhikode, Shoranur, and Palakkad stations.

In another unrelated update, railway passengers will now need to pay extra for carrying luggage beyond the prescribed free allowance limits, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Wednesday.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw made the statement while replying to queries from MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, who asked whether the Railways was considering enforcing baggage regulations for train passengers similar to those followed at airports.

Train Luggage Rules

-A passenger travelling in Second Class is allowed to carry 35 kg of luggage free of cost and up to 70 kg on a chargeable basis. For Sleeper Class passengers, the free allowance is 40 kg with a maximum permissible limit of 80 kg.

-Passengers travelling in AC 3 Tier or Chair Car are permitted a free allowance of 40 kg, which is also the maximum limit.

-First Class and AC 2 Tier passengers are permitted to carry 50 kg of luggage free of cost and up to 100 kg as the maximum limit. AC First Class passengers can carry 70 kg free of cost and up to 150 kg on a chargeable basis.
