IndiGo slapgate:The 39-year-old Hoosain Ahmed Mazumdar, who was assaulted on an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Kolkata, has shared his account of the incident following his return after going dramatically missing for 48 hours of the incident.
According to a report by The Times of India, Hoosain's family has accused the airline and the authorities of severe negligence in communication, leaving them distressed about his whereabouts.
On Saturday evening, Hoosian was located at Barpeta Road station by his cousin Dilawar. He had boarded a train to Kolkata from Assam. "I managed to locate him on Saturday evening. He was sitting next to another person and was disoriented. I brought him home and we reached Katigorah around 7 am on Sunday," Dilwar said.

TOI quoted his uncle, Jubaidul Islam Mazumdar saying, "We were in a state of shock. I had posted on Facebook that my nephew was missing after the flight incident. On Friday night, someone responded, saying the boy in the photo was sitting next to him."
Talking about the incident, Hoosain said that he was scared on the flight and thus asked the man's name. He added that the man slapped him 3-4 times after he gave him a salaam.
He said, "I was very scared on the flight. My body was shivering, so I asked the man's name who was sitting next to me. He said his name was Hafiz Uddin (Hafizur Rahman), and I gave him salaam. But suddenly, without any reason, he slapped me 3–4 times."
Hoosian added that he had not misbehaved with the accused. After the incident, Hoosain and Hafizur were taken to the police station once the flight landed in Kolkata. Hoosian was sent for a medical check-up, and so his connecting flight to Silchar was missed.
Hoosain's family criticised IndiGo for both failing to arrange a connecting flight and providing a health update on him. "He was handed over to police, but after that, the airline completely washed its hands of the matter. Neither did they inform us, nor did they help him travel further," Hoosain's family member said.
