Kolkata gangrape case: National Commission of Women (NCW) member Archana Majumdar on Saturday made shocking allegations against the Kolkata Police of intentionally delaying the medical examination of the law student. She alleged that the police is trying to do same thing as they did in RG Kar case.

Speaking to the news agency ANI, she also alleged that the location of the victim is not being shared with them by the police, and the South Kolkata SP is not responding to her texts. She said, "This is really unfortunate that the commission member is located in Kolkata and she is desperately trying to get contacts from Police but it has not yet been served to us. I have contacted SP South Kolkata, I texted her but she didn't respond. Maybe she is too busy...The Commission is asking about the victim's location, her address. But that is being denied. "

She further added, "Being a doctor, a local, I inquired yesterday and got to know that she was taken to Calcutta National Medical College & Hospital where her medical was not done. They said that she will go to Kolkata Medical College but she was not sent there. Today, she is supposed to go to NRS Medical College and Hospital but that is also under question. So, they are delaying medical examination intentionally...I believe that they have the intention to do the same thing as they did in RG Kar case...We are concerned with the welfare of the girl..."

RG Kar victim's father slams government

Meanwhile, RG Kar victim's father has also slammed the state government over repeated crime against women in the state. He said, "Such incidents are happening again and again. After what happened with my daughter, many people came out on the streets in protest. Even after that, such incidents continue to occur. People inside the college are committing such incidents. The government has a significant role in this, which is why all these incidents are happening. All three people arrested are from the TMC, so this political party should ensure that such incidents do not happen again. The accused should be severely punished."
