Durga Puja 2025: The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has made special arrangements for passengers during the Navratri festival. Passengers observing fasts will have access to special meals without garlic and onion, catering to their dietary needs.
IRCTC To Serve Special Navratri Meals To Passengers
Special Durga Puja Meals In Trains: IRCTC will provide meals without garlic and onion to passengers from base kitchens on demand.
- This arrangement is available on 50 trains, including the Sept Kranti Express, Bihar Sampark Kranti Express, and Vaishali Express, operating from various railway divisions of East Central Railway.
- Special Food Plaza Arrangement On Navratri: Similar arrangements have been made at food plazas and junctions to ensure passengers have access to suitable food options.

Rail Neer Price Reduced After GST Rollout
In another development, IRCTC has reduced the price of Rail Neer from Rs 15 to Rs 14 per bottle, following a decrease in GST rates. Passengers can now purchase Rail Neer at the revised price. If any staff member demands more money, passengers can report to Rail Madad, and action will be taken against the concerned catering staff.
Railway Police Heightens Vigilance On Trains During Durga Puja
In preparation for the upcoming Durga Puja and other festivals, the Railway Police Force (RPF) in Muzaffarpur has intensified security measures to ensure passenger safety. Plainclothes police personnel have been deployed at border areas to monitor trains and keep a close eye on potential troublemakers.

- Plainclothes Police: RPF personnel in plain clothes will be deployed to monitor trains and identify potential threats.
- Special Teams: Three special teams have been dispatched to Barauni, Gorakhpur, and Ballia to conduct awareness campaigns and monitor suspicious activities.
- 24/7 Vigilance: These teams will operate around the clock to ensure passenger safety.
- Awareness Campaigns: RPF will conduct awareness campaigns at border railway stations to educate passengers about potential threats and promote vigilance.
- Video Recording: Originating stations will record photos and videos of passengers boarding trains, which will be shared with monitoring officials via WhatsApp
