IRCTC Super App Features

-The planned super app will unify several existing services managed by separate applications. Passengers will be able to book reserved and unreserved tickets, purchase platform passes, and track trains in real time, and access catering and feedback services. This will replace the need to use multiple apps like IRCTC Rail Connect, UTS, and Rail Madad, among others.

-IRCTC will remain the interface for reserved ticket bookings, continuing its established role in railway ticketing. The integration between IRCTC and CRIS is expected to provide passengers with seamless service across all functionalities. Additionally, the app offers an opportunity for IRCTC to enhance its revenue streams by integrating these services into one accessible platform.

-CRIS, the organisation behind Indian Railways’ software systems, will lead the development of the super app. The rollout is scheduled for December, marking a significant step toward improving passenger convenience. With its prior experience in creating and managing railway-related systems, CRIS aims to ensure a smooth transition to this unified application.

-The super app aligns with Indian Railways’ goal to enhance the digital experience for passengers. It is expected to provide a centralized platform for millions of travelers, reducing the reliance on multiple applications for railway-related services. IRCTC will continue to play a critical role, with its ticketing systems integrating seamlessly into the new application.
