Giving a major boost to domestic connectivity, a new flight service has started from Jaipur, Rajasthan, to Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. This will also improve connectivity to tourist destinations, such as Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Bikaner, among other places. On the first day itself, 56 passengers traveled from Jaipur to Kullu. The flight service is expected to give a major relief to the tourists as the cost of the flight is Rs 2500. Earlier, the tourists had to pay Rs 35,000 for the taxi service. 

The flight departed from Jaipur at 8.20 am and arrived in Kullu at 10.15 am. Then it returned back at 10.35 am and arrived in Jaipur at 12.40 pm. The aviation ministry has claimed that increasing the frequency of flights between regional airports is a priority, and government officials are working on several such projects.

The officials informed that the travel distance between Jaipur and Kullu will be two hours. "This flight service, which will be twice a week on Monday and Wednesday, is expected to increase tourism opportunities for both Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh as travel time will reduce drastically," said a Jaipur airport official, quoted by The Times of India. 

"Seasonal flights within Rajasthan will start after October 31, and with the new terminal opening, there will be better facilities. Flight services to more domestic destinations are also likely to start in the winter schedule," said an official.

Kullu Travel Agents Association patron Bhupinder Thakur detailed that these regional flight tickets are available at very nominal rates for all these sectors. “The sole government national regional flag carrier has already connected Kullu with Amritsar and Dehradun. Tickets were available at very nominal rates for all these sectors under the UDAN yojana,” he said, quoted by The Tribune.
