Doda Encounter: An Indian Army personnel laid down his life, while three reportedly sustained injuries in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. Gunfire is currently underway between the army and terrorists in the Shia Dhar Choundh Mata area of Koti village, 30 kilometres from Doda.

Security sources said that a brief gunfight took place when the troops of Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group of J&K Police launched a cordon and search operation at Dhari Gote Urarbagi in Bhagwah forest area around 7.45 pm.
The operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs, PTI reported. The area was cordoned off after security forces received input about the presence of some terrorists in the region.
The firing lasted for a brief period, PTI said, adding that the search of the area was suspended for the night and would resume early Tuesday morning. Further details are awaited, the spokesperson said in a statement tonight.
