Jammu-Kashmir Weather Updates: In view of continuous heavy rainfall and landslides, authorities have issued orders to evacuate dozens of hotels and dharamshalas at the base camp of Mata Vaishno Devi, prioritizing the safety of devotees. This step has been taken due to the ongoing risk of road collapse and persistent landslides along the Reasi and Banganga roads.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the region, forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, and gusty winds at speeds of 30–40 km/h.
According to Jagran.com, heavy rainfall on Sunday morning triggered widespread landslides and land subsidence in several parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Multiple kutcha (mud) houses have collapsed in the hilly regions, and water levels in rivers and streams have risen significantly.
