Jammu-Katra Special Trains: Indian Railways announced the operation of special trains from other cities of India to Jammu-Katra for the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage. The development has come after a lack of confirmed tickets on the train. No significant decline in the number of pilgrims to the Vaishno Devi temple has been observed after the Pahalgam terror attack.
Following the recent terrorist attack, concerns arose about a potential decline in passenger traffic to Jammu and Kashmir. Although there has been a slight decrease, most trains remain fully booked, with confirmed tickets becoming increasingly difficult to obtain.
To address this issue, the railway has introduced a special train from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, set to depart from Friday. Additionally, special trains have been announced on the Katra-Guwahati and Jammu Tawi-Banaras routes.
Route And Schedule
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Guwahati Special (04606/04605) train will leave from Katra every Friday from May 2 to May 30. On the return journey, it will leave from Guwahati every Monday from May 5 to July 2.
Jammu Tawi-Banaras Special (04610/04609) will leave from Jammu Tawi every Thursday from May 8 to July 10 and from Banaras every Friday from May 9 to July 11.
