This time, the Maharashtra Assembly election will be interesting to watch. For the first time, Shiv Sena and NCP, split into two factions, will witness a face-off in the elections. The Uddhav faction of Shiv Sena and the Sharad Pawar faction of NCP will contest under the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, while the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena and the Ajit Pawar faction of NCP will compete under the Mahayuti alliance.

Notably, in the Lok Sabha election held four months ago, the MVA had performed well, winning 30 out of 48 seats. On the other hand, the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance secured only 17 seats.
