Jharkhand Road Accident: At least six people were killed and two others critically injured after their car went uncontrolled and hit the divider in Jamshedpur, the police said on Monday. The accident took place near Circuit House Square in the Bistupur police station area around 5:00 AM, an officer said.
According to Jamshedpur police, eight people, all residents of Adityapur, were in the car at the time of the accident. Five people were killed immediately on the spot while one died during the treatment, the police said. Two others suffered serious injuries, they added.

"Six people died in a road accident in Jamshedpur after their car went uncontrolled and hit the divider. A total of 8 people, all residents of Adityapur, were in the car at the time of the accident. Five died on the spot while one died during the treatment. Two survivors are critically injured. Further investigation underway," news agency ANI quoted Jamshedpur police saying.

Meanwhile, two alleged robbers were arrested from Amethi after a gunfight in which both were shot in the leg and inflicted a bullet wound to a sub-inspector in his hand, police said. According to Additional Superintendent of Police Harendra Kumar, the two men were wanted in connection with a Rs 4 lakh robbery that happened on December 30 near close to Tikri in the Amethi area.
