The student protest in Ranchi over the ongoing JPSC controversy has received support from the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), with a party delegation visiting the city to stand with the protesting students.
CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the organisation was in “complete solidarity” with the students and would extend “all forms of support” to their movement. The delegation was led by Mukesh and Akshay Shinde.

The development comes as the Jharkhand government’s efforts to resolve the agitation through talks failed to end the protests. On Saturday, a five-member government panel held separate meetings with several student organisations and protest groups, but the aspirants decided to continue their agitation until their demands are addressed.
The delegation said the CJP would support students fighting against alleged injustice and denial of their rights. Members also clarified that the organisation does not consider itself a conventional political party and claimed its focus is on supporting student movements wherever their demands are not being addressed.
CJP representatives further said they would share their experience of participating in protests at Jantar Mantar with the Jharkhand students. They assured the protesters of continued support and said they would work to strengthen the ongoing movement.
Cancellation Of 14th JPSC Exam Among Key Demands
The government panel first met the group led by JLKM leader Devendra Nath Mahto, whose fast had entered its seventh day. Discussions were subsequently held with representatives of the Congress-backed NSUI, Adivasi Chhatra Sangh (ACS) and Jharkhand Chhatra Morcha (JCM).
Among the major demands is the cancellation of the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Civil Services Examination.
The JCM submitted five demands to the government, including cancellation of the examination. The NSUI presented six demands, including a CID investigation into JPSC and JSSC examinations facing allegations of irregularities within 90 days and the creation of a Jharkhand Testing Agency (JTA) on the lines of the National Testing Agency.
ACS leader Kartik Oraon said the organisation had also demanded that tribal and regional languages be included as qualifying papers in recruitment examinations.
“We demanded inclusion of tribal and regional languages as qualifying papers in the recruitment examinations, besides cancellation of the tests in which irregularities were found,” Oraon said.
Second Round Of Meeting
In a meeting between the government delegation and the student leader Devendra Nath Maht-led group in Ranchi, the protesters reiterated their key demands. While the delegation could not arrive at any solid conclusion, the state minister said the government will also talk to the other student groups, including NSUI, JCM, and ACS.
"This delegation will continue to meet with various groups of students and stakeholders. The way we met with a group of students today-right now there are people from NSUI, JCM, and ACS. We will meet with all of them. In addition, we are issuing an email ID (JPSSC.feedback@gmail.com)," Sonu was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
"Any student, any individual, any stakeholder can give their suggestions, and based on all these suggestions, we intend to arrive at a collective decision," he added. The students have clarified that their protest will continue until the demands are met.
