Jharkhand Weather Forecast: According to the India Meteorological Department, Ranchi, there is a possibility of lightning in all the districts of the state from May 19 to 21. The weather body has issued an orange alert regarding this. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued from May 21 to 24. The temperature in the capital and surrounding areas has dropped by 5 degrees Celsius, bringing much needed respite from the scorching heat.
Ranchi remained partly cloudy in the morning. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the north-eastern part of the state i.e. Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Pakur, Dhanbad, Giridih, Jamtara and Sahibganj on May 20. A yellow alert has been issued regarding this.
At the same time, an orange alert has been issued in some districts regarding thunder, strong winds blowing at the speed of 50 to 60 km per hour and lightning.
On May 21, 22 and 23, a yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorms, strong winds blowing at the speed of 40 to 50 kmph and lightning in some parts of the state.
Possibility Of Light To Moderate Rainfall
Meteorologist Abhishek Anand said that there is a strong possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thundershowers at many places in the state on May 20 and 21. Similar conditions are likely to prevail till May 22 and 23.
In Jharkhand, during the last 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall was recorded along with thunder and lightning at most places in the state. The highest rainfall of 49.2 mm was recorded in Adki of Khunti.
The highest maximum temperature of 42.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Daltonganj and the lowest minimum temperature of 21.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in Latehar.
The maximum temperature of the capital Ranchi was recorded at 35.8 degree Celsius and the minimum at 21.8 degree Celsius.
