Jharkhand Weather Update Today: After temporary relief from the hot weather with heavy rain, the residents of Jharkhand are expected to grapple with heatwave and scorching temperatures for the coming few days. 

Ranchi Weather 

The scorching heat has taken a toll in Ranchi and other districts. Heatwave is expected to persist for another two days. 

The India Meteorological Department issued a warning of bad weather, anticipating strong winds at 30-40 Kmph with potential rain. The Ranchi Meteorological Centre has placed a yellow alert, warning of potential thunderstorms in Khunti and Ranchi within the next one to three hours.JharkhandWeather

Weather In Last 24 Hours

Over the past 24 hours, four yellow alerts were issued within a two-hour window (1:30 pm to 3:30 pm) due to anticipated strong winds, storms, and rain in districts including Saraikela Kharsawan, East Singhbhum, Simdega, and Dumka. Residents were warned to exercise caution.

11 Districts To Remain On Alert For 48 Hours

A yellow alert has been issued for the next 48 hours in 11 districts, including Sahibganj, Godda, Dumka, Jamtara, Pakur, East and West Singhbhum, Simdega, Saraikela Kharsawan, Deoghar, and Dhanbad, due to the risk of heatstroke. Temperatures in these areas may reach 42 degrees Celsius. Residents are advised to stay indoors between 12 pm and 3 pm, take extra precautions, and stay hydrated.

Relief From Heat Expected On May 16

After enduring the heat for 48 hours, residents can expect relief. The low-pressure system developing in the Bay of Bengal will start affecting the state after 48 hours. From May 16, there is a likelihood of strong winds, storms, and thunderstorms accompanied by good rainfall throughout the state. The maximum temperature is expected to drop by 3-4 degrees Celsius from May 16 onwards.
