Jharkhand Weather Forecast: Monsoon is likely to gain pace in Jharkhand with heavy to very heavy rain likely in East and West Singhbhum, Saraikela Kharsawan, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh, Godda, Dumka, Pakur and Ramgarh. The IMD has issued a red alert regarding this. There will be heavy rain in these districts, along with the possibility of thunder and strong storms, in which the wind speed can reach up to 50-60 kilometres per hour. Jharkhand's capital Ranchi received heavy rains on Tuesday. The first monsoon rain brought down the temperature bringing much needed relief from the heat for the people. The IMD has issued a yellow alert in Ranchi, Palamu, Gumla, Giridih, Koderma, Sahibganj, Godda and Simdega. Here the wind speed can reach 40-50 kilometres per hour. There is also a possibility of intense thunderstorms.

A yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in many parts of the north-eastern part of the state i.e. Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Pakur, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Giridih and Sahibganj on June 19 and 20. In these districts too, a yellow alert has been issued regarding strong winds blowing at the speed of 30 to 40 kmph and lightning.
Meteorologist Abhishek Anand said that there are indications of heavy rain in most parts of the state for the next four days. Yellow and orange alerts have been issued regarding this, jagran.com reported.
In view of the alert, he has appealed to the general public to be cautious and careful. He has advised people to take shelter in safe places and not stand under trees, keep distance from electric poles and farmers not to go to their fields.
Jharkhand Sees Drop In Temperature
The first rain of the season brought down the maximum temperature considerably in Jharkhand. The average maximum temperature in the state remained between 26-28 degrees Celsius.
