Jharkhand Politics: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Tuesday debunked the reports of a possible alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by asserting that "Jharkhand will not bow down". In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister Hemant Soren-led ruling party emphasised that the reports were baseless, further claiming that the BJP leaders were making such claims to ensure their relevance. The clarification came after several reports claimed that the Jharkhand chief minister recently had a meeting with the BJP top brass. However, the ruling party has clarified that the political setup of the state will not change dramatically in the upcoming days.
In a post on X, JMM spokesperson Kunal Sarangi stated that while the BJP may have all the political tools, Soren will not bow down before the saffron party. "The BJP in Jharkhand is in surrender mode after losing the Ghatsila by-election. Its leaders have realized that the BJP will not return to power in Jharkhand for the next 20 years. Hence, a new slogan every day—a new dream every day. But let everyone know that Jharkhand has never bowed down, and it will never bow down again," Sarangi stated in his post.

Apart from this, former Jharkhand Congress President Rajesh Thakur also dismissed any such possibility by stating that JMM is an integral part of the opposition alliance. While addressing a press conference in Mandi, Thakur stated that there was no question of Hemant Soren joining forces with the BJP. He further stated that the BJP was trying to gain political advantage by spreading rumors and confusion.
Hemant Soren's JMM is currently running the government in Jharkhand with the Congress, while the BJP is the main opposition party.
