Jagran Correspondent, Srinagar: An encounter has broken out between the security forces and terrorists near the famous tourist spot Yusmarg in Central Kashmir's Budgam district.
According to the information, the contact was established during the cordon and search operation in the upper reaches of Yusmarg. After the initial gunfire, a reinforcement was reportedly rushed to the area for a fortified cordon. The cordon is will reportedly continue to remain in place overnight and with the first light, operation would resume again.
War-like cache of weapons, ammunition recovered
Meanwhile, a war-like cache of weapons and ammunition has been recovered during a search operation in Reasi district. The security forces recovered a pistol, a grenade and 184 rounds of ammunition, officials said.
News agency PTI reported that the search operation was launched in the dense forests of Khataji Ridge in Mahore area after specific inputs from the local Army intelligence unit.
Among the 185 round of ammunitions the forces recovered, included 140 rounds of AK-47 rifle ammunition, 19 rounds of PIKA (machine gun) ammunition, 25 rounds of pistol ammunition.
Pakistani intruder arrested in Jammu's Kanachak
Further investigations were initiated in connection with the recovery, officials had added. The day kept security forces in action mode, not only in Budgam and Reasi but also in Jammu district. The security forces apprehended a suspected Pakistani intruder along the International Border (IB) in the Kanachak sector of the district, the officials said.

The officials said that the man was identified as Nazir Sadhir, a resident of Sialkot district in Pakistan. The officials said that Sadhir was under interrogation.
