Kali Puja 2023: Kali Puja which will be celebrated on the same day as Diwali this year on November 12, marks the worship of the Goddess of Kali and is also known as Shyama Puja. Devotees of Goddess Kali around the country celebrate the auspicious day by worshipping the deity of strength and courage. Kali Puja is celebrated primarily in West Bengal, Assam, Odisha and also in the neighbouring countries of Bangladesh and Nepal. In Hindu mythology, Kali Puja marks the celebration of Goddess Kali's victory over the demon Raktabija.
The rituals or ceremonies usually are held in the evening and continue till late at night. This year, the Amavasya Tithi begins from 2:44 pm on Sunday and will continue till 2:56 pm on November 13.
