Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was brought to meet his ailing wife on Saturday after the Rouse Avenue court granted permission for the same. Sisodia met his wife at the premises which served as his official residence during his tenure in the Delhi government but is now allocated to fellow AAP leader and Delhi's Education Minister Atishi, news agency ANI reported.

On Friday, Special judge MK Nagpal of Delhi's Rouse Avenue court allowed Sisodia to meet his ailing wife at his home between 10 am and 4 am under police custody. In his plea before the court, the jailed AAP leader had sought permission to spend five days with his wife.

Sisodia was denied bail in the Delhi excise policy case by the Supreme Court on October 30. He has been lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail since March, days after his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the case. He was earlier released for a few hours in June to meet his wife, who is said to be suffering from multiple sclerosis -- a potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord. However, Sisodia was unable to meet her back then.
