Kangana Ranaut Slap Row: After a major row erupted over alleged misbehaviour with Bollywood actress and newly elected BJP MP from Mandi Kangana Ranaut by a CISF woman constable, a farmer leader from Punjab on Friday justified her actions by saying that actor's statement during the farmers' agitation hurt the sentiments of people of the state. He said that Kangana Ranaut has previously made derogatory remarks about the mothers and sisters of farmers and labourers, which has deeply hurt people's feelings.
General Secretary of Punjab Kisan Sangarsh Committee, Sarwan Singh Pandher further said that Kangana ji has often made inappropriate comments in her statements. For instance, suggesting that the farmers were being paid daily wages for protesting. This recent incident appears to be linked to those past remarks, he said.
"Kangana Ranaut Should Undergo Dope Test"
While labelling the matter as serious, Sarwan Singh Pandher demanded that Kangana Ranaut must undergo a dope test. He clarified that they do not justify the incident where Kulwinder Kaur acted out. Drawing parallels to past incidents, Pandher remarked, "A shoe was thrown at P Chidambaram, and Kejriwal was also slapped. This is people's anger and nothing new." He further condemned any potential action against Kulwinder Kaur, stating, "Arresting her and taking action would be condemnable. This is just an outpouring of emotions and nothing else."
Farmers Threaten Massive Protests
In a separate statement, Sarwan Singh Pandher revealed that he had spoken to Kulwinder Kaur's brother, who confirmed her arrest. There is also concern over the lack of information about Kaur's daughters. Pandher issued a warning to the government, demanding clear information about the family's whereabouts. "If we do not receive accurate information, we will launch a massive protest," he declared.
